Plouharnel est une commune typique du Morbihan qui a su conserver son charme d’antan et sa tranquillité. Le centre bourg historique datant du XVI et XVIIᵉ siècle est complété par deux abbayes bénédictines : l’Abbaye de Sainte-Anne de Kergonan et l’Abbaye Saint-Michel de Kergonan. Ces deux beaux bâtiments spirituels s’imposent face à l’océan et restent encore aujourd’hui des hauts lieux de prières où plusieurs moines y sont établis. En vous éloignant du centre-ville, vous pourrez aussi apercevoir des sites mégalithiques à l’image de ceux de Carnac. Dans le nord de la ville, on découvre en effet plusieurs dolmens, comme celui de Crucuno datant du Néolithique.
