Plouharnel est une commune typique du Morbihan qui a su conserver son charme d’antan et sa tranquillité. Ses maisons en pierres, ses rues étroites et fleuries ne sont pas les seuls éléments qui constituent la ville. Le centre bourg historique datant du XVI et XVIIᵉ siècle est complété par deux abbayes bénédictines : l’Abbaye de Sainte-Anne de Kergonan et l’Abbaye Saint-Michel de Kergonan. Ces deux beaux bâtiments spirituels s’imposent face à l’océan et restent encore aujourd’hui des hauts lieux de prières où plusieurs moines y sont établis. En vous éloignant du centre-ville, vous pourrez aussi apercevoir des sites mégalithiques à l’image de ceux de Carnac. Dans le nord de la ville, on découvre en effet plusieurs dolmens, comme celui de Crucuno datant du Néolithique.
